Phys. lab recording spirometer: BMR APPARATUS Spirometer is with recording.
The BMR consist of a hollow double-walled vessel the space between the two walls contains water, making it air light.
In the space between the two walls an inverted hollow cylindrical bell of 6L capacity is placed. The bell is attached to a counterbalance with a chain, which passes over a pulley.
The counterbalance carries a pen for writing on the paper.
The BMR can operate at four different speeds selectable from the front panel.

A basal metabolic rate (BMR) apparatus experiment measures a subject's oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production to determine their BMR. The Benedict and Roth Respiration apparatus is a common BMR apparatus that uses a closed-circuit system. The subject breathes into the apparatus, which absorbs the carbon dioxide produced with soda lime and supplies oxygen from a metal cylinder.
