Hydrodynamics of Packed Bed (Liquid hold Set Up)/Packed tower (Liquid Holdup setup) (Model No. HVO-FM-30)
Hydrodynamics of Packed Bed (Liquid hold Set Up)
Description
The present set-up is designed to study the hydrodynamic studies of gas-liquid system. It consists of a vertical, transparent, borosilicate glass column packed with borosilicate glass Rasching rings. This packing is supported on SS mesh at the bottom. Pressure drop across packed bed can be measured by manometer. The apparatus is close circuit type provided with tank, FHP pump, necessary piping, valves and Rotameters to measure the flow rate of liquid and gas. The set-up is fitted on a MS frame and painted with good quality paint.
Experiments
- To study Hydrodynamics of Packed Bed.
- To study relationship between velocity of fluid and pressure drop per unit length.
Utilities Required
- Electric supply: 230 VAC, 50 Hz, Single phase, with 5-15Amp combined socked with earth connection. Earth voltage should be less than 2.5 volts.
- Water Supply: Initial fill 40 ltrs and floor drain.
- Floor space: 1 x 1 m.
